AERMOR is seeking a Fully Qualified Navy Validator (FQNV) to be responsible for validating Navy information systems in compliance with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy cybersecurity frameworks. The FQNV ensures that systems meet all cybersecurity standards and are prepared for risk management and accreditation. This role involves high-level coordination with system owners, Security Control Assessors (SCA), and other stakeholders to certify that security controls are correctly implemented and maintained.

 Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth validation of Navy systems to ensure compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Navy policies, and DoD Instruction 8510.01.
  • Evaluate security controls for information systems, ensuring they meet the NIST SP 800-53 and other applicable security guidelines.
  • Review and approve security authorization packages using eMASS, providing recommendations for system Authorization to Operate (ATO).
  • Lead comprehensive risk assessments to evaluate and mitigate potential vulnerabilities within Navy systems.
  • Work closely with Security Control Assessors (SCA) and other key stakeholders to recommend risk mitigation strategies and ensure systems meet all necessary cybersecurity criteria.
  • Provide guidance and oversight throughout the accreditation process, ensuring all security controls are properly validated before system deployment.
  • Engage with system owners, engineers, and technical teams to ensure that security requirements are integrated into system design and operations.
  • Lead Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and Local Change Control Boards (LCCBs) to review system changes and assess their impact on security posture.
  • Advise senior Navy leadership on security validation outcomes and potential risks associated with system deployment or ongoing operation.
  • Prepare, review, and submit all required documentation for system validation and accreditation.
  • Maintain detailed records of validation assessments, security testing, and system authorization recommendations.
  • Provide status updates, briefing reports, and compliance tracking to Navy cybersecurity leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of specialized experience in information system security, with a focus on validating Navy and DoD information systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.   
  • Must meet IAM Level II requirements, with certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, or equivalent.
