Job Description

We have a part-time opening for security officers in the Oswego area. Candidates must possess a valid PERC and a 20-Hour Certificate to be eligible. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods and weekend availability. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:30am-3:00pm. The schedule on Wednesday is 3:00pm-10:00pm.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain the security and safety of the site through regular patrols
• Actively enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
• Provide superior customer care and contribute positively to the facility's atmosphere
• Engage with the public to offer assistance and directions
• Keep accurate logs and write detailed reports on incidents
• Prevent unauthorized access to the area and items within
• Monitor closed-circuit television for potential issues

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
• Commitment to the well-being of others
• Proficiency in using computer systems and applications

Education and Experience:

• Must be 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of related experience required
• Active Security license or ability to obtain one

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing for up to 4 hours
• Foot patrol and ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Must stay alert at all times
