As a tax resolution specialist you will be instrumental in guiding clients through tax resolution and preparation. You will apply your specialized knowledge to resolve complex tax issues, offer strategic advice on tax matters, and ensure tax returns are prepared accurately and promptly. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing outstanding client service. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Resolution:
   • Represent clients before the IRS and state tax authorities in exams, appeals, and collections matters.
   • Develop and implement strategies to resolve tax issues, including negotiating settlements and installment agreements.
   • Review and analyze clients' tax situations to identify potential areas for resolution.
2. Tax Preparation:
   • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
   • Gather and analyze financial data, including income, deductions, and credits, to complete tax returns.
   • Provide tax planning advice and recommendations to optimize clients' tax positions.
3. Client Service:
   • Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on their tax situations.
   • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
   • Educate clients on tax-related matters and best practices for tax compliance.

Qualifications:

• Certification: Enrolled Agent (EA) license required. Will also consider CPA or attorney. 
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax resolution and preparation.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws, regulations, IRM, and procedures.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with both individual and business tax preparation. Including 1120-S, 1065s and payroll.
• Experience with THS, Drake, and Tax Dome. 
• Familiarity with IRS and state tax authority procedures and systems. 
• Previous experience in a client-facing role or consulting environment.
