Job Description

Sterile Processing Technician at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This position is for Full-time and will work 8-hour Evening Shift.

Conducts a variety of complex and detailed tasks to accomplish the effective, safe reprocessing of reusable devices in SPD, Surgery, and other hospital departments. Cleans, disinfects, assembles, inspects, and sterilizes complex, specialty instruments and equipment for surgical use. Operates Sterile Processing and Operating Room equipment. Completes OR and SPD recordkeeping pertaining to sterility assurance and instrument counts.

Required Qualifications:

• National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association within 1 year of hire.

• National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training - Training course in Sterile Processing.

• 2 years - Instrumentation/sterilization in an acute hospital.
