Senior Internal Auditor
Location : Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Internal Auditor to join our client’s expanding audit team, supporting risk management, compliance, and process enhancement initiatives. This role is critical in helping to establish a high-impact audit department dedicated to safeguarding company assets, optimizing operations, and enhancing the control environment. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in designing and refining internal controls while actively engaging with leadership to drive compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment : Perform comprehensive risk assessments across various departments, focusing on identifying and mitigating risks related to fraud and operational efficiency.
• Compliance Oversight : Lead SOX and SEC compliance activities, ensuring all processes meet regulatory standards and internal guidelines. Contribute to the development of audit strategies that align with best practices in regulatory compliance.
• Process Improvement : Identify process inefficiencies and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance operational performance across departments.
• Internal Control Development : Assist in building and sustaining a robust internal control framework, supporting the organization’s commitment to responsible growth and effective risk management.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience : Minimum of 2 years in audit roles, either within a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm or within a publicly traded organization.
• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certifications : CPA or CIA certification preferred (or actively pursuing).
• Skills : Strong analytical skills combined with practical business insight, with the ability to evaluate and improve control environments.
