Job Description

Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Rehabilitation Medicine invites applications for musculoskeletal physiatrists to join our Division of Sports & Spine. Three positions are available. These will be full-time appointments at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW's Faculty Code Section 24-34 . Position FTE may be negotiable. Start date anticipated by Fall 2025, but other dates may be considered.

The Sports & Spine Division in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is a well-established group practice, with 16 faculty members across several clinic locations. We provide the highest quality patient-centered care, with each faculty member offering a unique contribution to the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. The individual hired will be expected to provide excellent patient care in spine, sports, and/or general musculoskeletal (MSK) medicine.

The clinical environment is an outpatient practice embedded within an academic department. The emphasis will be on a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, with a focus on sports and spine medicine. Will be expected to perform procedures including but not limited to lumbar spinal injections.

This position practices in a collaborative and multidisciplinary academic environment. This work requires strong collaboration with treatment team members, including the surgical spine team.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the Clinical Practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. Only full-time positions (100% FTE) are eligible for H-1B and permanent residence sponsorship. Employer based permanent residence sponsorship is offered in the Clinical Practice track.

The base salary range for this position will be as follows: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice $15,000 - $20,194 per month ($180,000 - $247,175 annually), Associate Professor of Clinical Practice $18,700 - $24,000 per month ($224,400 - $293,760 annually), or Professor of Clinical Practice $23,500 - $26,800 per month ($282,000 - $328,032 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position will include semi-annual, production-based incentive through UW Physicians (UWP), and may include temporary salary increases or salary supplements related to professional sites of practice coverage (NTE TPSs), moving allowance or relocation incentive. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

For physicians whose practice plan compensation makes them eligible for separate benefits beyond those outlined in the general Benefits Information section below, detail about the potential additional benefits may be reviewed at .
