Job Description

The onair Technical Operations team in Centennial Colorado manages playout linear and digital distribution of content and monitoring for NBC and Telemundos Network Operation and Owned Television Stations including distribution of live programing (such as Today Show SNL Americas Got Talent The Voice NFL Olympics Election Coverage FIFA World Cup and Breaking News). The team also plays an integral role in origination and monitoring of Disaster Recovery streams for a diverse portfolio of cable properties. Our Master Control Operators play a critical role in maintaining 99.999% onair reliability in this dynamic multichannel environment. Our Operators are technologically curious obsessed with the details and excited to solve problems as a team to get compelling content to viewers screens. 

Note: This is a broadcast distribution role which has some interfacing with production teams however this role is not a productionbased role.

Colorado applicants only wage range: $50000$55000 (not bonus eligible)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manipulate onair playlists execute program/commercial/marketing changes and support liveevent and contingency workflows using cuttingedge software like SNELL Morpheus and Amagi.
• Execute seamless program commercial and marketing changes and provide support for live events and contingency workflows.
• Take ownership of commercial integration ensuring flawless rolling of commercial breaks during both taped and live programming.
• Contributing to the team which collectively monitors and maintains 150 channel streams ensuring continuous availability and identifying any inconsistencies with keen attention to detail.
• Guarantee the continuity of programming by meticulously confirming the readiness of every piece of material for onair playout.
• Act as the last line of defense for internal clients and stations swiftly responding to any onair discrepancies with situational awareness and quick decisionmaking skills.
• Protect our onair product by meticulously simulating the viewer experience constantly checking for proper audio video captioning and picture quality.
• Collaborate with Operation Supervisors and work as a cohesive team to promptly recover from any onair discrepancies.
• Act as a mentor and subject matter expert by contributing and supporting ongoing peertopeer training.
• Perform all other duties to support the success of the Network Operations Center as assigned by manager and follow company rules and policies

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

• A high school diploma and relevant certification or associate degree in Media or Communications or equivalent professional experience.
• A solid understanding of television production broadcast operations and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.

• Must have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.

• Must be willing and available to work any shift including overnight shifts weekends and holidays to meet the needs of a 24x7/365 operation with possibility of schedule changes based on business needs and priorities.
• Must be willing and able to view all content including that considered to be mature in nature repetitive and potentially controversial.

Desired Characteristics:

• Prior professional experience working in Master Control or a production control room is highly desirable.
• The ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in highpressure situations.
• Ability to adapt to new and changing workflows and software implementations.
• An acute attention to detail and a knack for crossreferencing and identifying inconsistencies coupled with the ability to anticipate and report potential issues and concerns proactively.
• Ability to multitask and balance numerous priorities in a deadlineoriented environment.
• A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience working collaboratively with others who is always respectful and maintains a positive attitude.
• A punctual hardworking disciplined and dependable individual
• Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a definite plus
