Job Story
The NIAR Adv Tech Lab Aerospace System is looking for a lab assistant to help with daily tasks.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties

• Perform basic preventive maintenance on autoclaves/ovens.
• Assist in transporting materials/tools/panels.
• Utilizes cutting table to cut and kit all fabrics and materials.
• Perform aerospace grade composite layup according to specifications.
• Perform aerospace grade vacuum bagging according to specifications.
• Tool prepping such as sanding, cleaning, mold sealing and releasing of tools.
• Ability to work specific drawings with limited supervision.
• Ability to complete work orders, paperwork and manufacturing routing sheets, etc.
• Comply with AS9100 requirements.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dependable, adaptable, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, and crawling inside and outside freezers.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours/week (time range from 8 am-10 pm).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
• Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
