The teaching assignment will consist of three or four class sections per trimester, with two- levels of ceramics electives within a hand-building curriculum. Our program is high-fire reduction with responsibilities that include firing downdraft gas kilns, glaze preparation and all other aspects of maintaining a fully functioning ceramic studio. All instructors in the department teach Visual Studies, our ninth-grade foundations course. There may also be opportunities to teach interdisciplinary classes in collaboration with other departments throughout the school. We seek dynamic candidates who will be active participants not only in the academic program but also in the athletics/fitness and residential programs at this boarding school.
