We are seeking a remote, initially part-time Financial Planning Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a key player, you will create budgets and financial forecasts for our growing marketing agency business. Your role will involve reviewing our books monthly, projecting growth in revenue and costs, and advising on budgeting for major categories in the P&L on an annual and rolling basis. You will report to the Co-CEO and provide proactive support and advice on hiring, spending, and operational challenges.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop annual budget processes and recommend financial budgets with support from our fractional CFO.
- Create and lead various recurring financial review and forecasting processes, including reporting and tracking procedures.
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in sales, finance, and general business conditions.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of operational aspects to evaluate progress toward goals and adjust future plans.
- Identify revenue and spending trends and work with our staff Controller, bookkeeper, and fractional CFO to improve performance and efficiency.
- Review financial statements, issue monthly variance statements, and provide explanations and recommendations for significant variances.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators and financial models to understand business dynamics and support decision-making.
- Collaborate with our Controller to review the monthly accounting close process and analyze results using trend analysis.
- Provide ROI analysis for client projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
**Position Details:**
- This is a remote and self-paced position, allowing you to work from anywhere with a good Internet connection.
- We require a commitment of at least 20 hours per week, with flexibility for fewer hours if there is a clear pathway to a half-time role.
- You must be self-directed, detail-oriented, and meticulous.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience in a fast-paced entrepreneurial organization.
- Experience in a marketing agency environment is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent communication skills via email and Slack.
- Fluency in English (even if not a native speaker).
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Google Drive.
- Reliable Internet access.
