Firm Overview :
Our law firm, a well-established and reputable firm in Illinois, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Workers' Compensation team. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 5 years of experience in handling workers' compensation cases. Job Responsibilities :
* Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including initial consultations, claims management, settlement negotiations, and hearings.
* Handle cases from inception through resolution, with primary responsibility for legal research, drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
* Appear in workers' compensation hearings, depositions, and arbitrations as required.
* Provide counsel to clients regarding their legal rights, compensation benefits, medical treatment options, and the workers' compensation process.
* Manage a caseload of workers' compensation cases efficiently and in compliance with deadlines.
* Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases, and assist with strategy development and case preparation.
* Maintain excellent client communication and provide updates on case progress.
* Stay current on developments in workers' compensation law, including relevant case law and legislative changes.
* Participate in settlement negotiations, preparing clients for mediations and settlement conferences.
* Perform legal research and draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses in a timely manner.
* Support the firm's overall goals and maintain a strong commitment to client service.
Qualifications :
* J.D. from an accredited law school.
* 1 to 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law or a related field.
* Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
* Strong knowledge of Illinois Workers' Compensation law and procedures.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients.
* Strong legal research and writing abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
