Job Description

LaSalle Network is partnering with a holding company in the Joplin, MO area. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations and performing a variety of accounting tasks. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

• Accurately process bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly payroll for all employees
• Maintain and update payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports (e.g., W-2, 941, etc.)
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans and other benefits
• Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate benefits deductions and enrollments

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field preferred but not required
• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and accounting
• Experience with QuickBooks Is required
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills are highly valued
• The ability to multitask effectively and collaborate with team members is crucial
